O-TOTO-Mowoc
In celebration of Oconomowoc’s 85th anniversary of the original screening of “The Wizard of Oz,” in 2024, a public art project featuring the movie’s beloved Toto were sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Each Toto is handpainted by local artists turning them into unique creations.
Approximately a dozen Totos in various poses bring a true technicolor experience to the City and create a lasting public piece in commemoration of the city’s tie to the iconic film.
The first round of completed Totos were installed spring of 2025. The city will continue to add more in public spaces as they are ready!

Totos Around Town
O-TOTO-Mowoc was a "passion project" dreamed up by City staff and members of the community who got together to come up with ways to celebrate the City's 85th anniversary of the World Premiere of "The Wizard of Oz." If you haven't heard about Oconomowoc's Oz history, you can catch it in our Discover Wisconsin Episode, and you can also check out Oz Plaza downtown Oconomowoc, another awesome public celebration of our Oz connection.
