The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is happy to be back for its 24th year supporting food banks and food shelves across our network by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues.
The train will stop in Oconomowoc at 6:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 at the Silver Lake Street rail crossing in downtown Oconomowoc.
The City of Oconomowoc is honored to be able to coordinate this event that benefits the Oconomowoc Area Food Pantry.
Plan ahead to attend this great event!
Know before you go!
- This is a winter event: Dress warm! It's winter and this is an outdoor event.
- Bring Food Pantry donations. Best donations for the pantry to store are monetary donations. However, we will also accept food items for the pantry. We will have drop locations near the train site.
- Park and arrive early. The train is expected to arrive at 6:40 pm. There will be a show on both the north and south side of the boxcar/train tracks. The event area can get extremely crowded as the event time nears. Plan to arrive 30 minutes or more ahead of time if you want closer access.
- Road Closures. Road closures will begin as early as 3pm surrounding the event site. More closures will follow at 5pm. Download a copy of the event map to plan ahead for parking and access.
- Treats for Sale.St. Paul Church will be offering hot cocoa and cookies for sale up front by the tracks and entertainment car location at the Silver Lake crossing.
- Grab dinner, support the K9 Program. 18 Acres will have a food truck serving yummy dinner options for all ages. They will also be parked close to the main event. 18 Acres will be donating a portion of sales to the City of Oconomowoc Police Department K-9 Officer program. Police staff will be on site with information about the program.
